Section 9: Powergaming
Section 9: Powergaming
Powergaming using an in-game mechanic, external information (see end of Section 6), or a roleplay concept to favor their own character or story, and give them an unfair or unrealistic advantage. Powergaming can take several forms, but it is generally rooted in “playing to win” or a focus on playing the game, instead of honoring the creative roleplay. Playing your character should always be more important than playing the game.
9.1 | If you are engaged in an active shootout (including with cops) and you choose to enter an animation that enters you into a locked animation and you get shot this is not powergaming. You chose to make that decision during a shootout.
9.2 | Inventories/pockets - You cannot use your 6th slot (bottom right of your pockets) to store any weapons, cameras, wired mics. If you do this any footage/audio recordings from that device will not count towards any IC scenes.
9.3 | If you make a claim that you have a bodycam then you MUST have a bodycam in your pockets. If you claim that you have recorded using your phone or a camera you MUST have these pulled out into your hands and clearly state you are using the device to record. If you try and use OOC footage IC when you have not had a recording device in your hands this will not count towards the scene and will be null and void. The only exception to this is bodycams, where as long as they are in your inventory and not in your 6th pocket you can use OOC software to record. However, this must be realistic, i.e the camera must have been able to capture what was going on fully.
9.4 | If you make a ticket regarding an in city dispute i.e a rule break etc then any footage recorded OOC (i.e Medal) can be used as evidence regardless of if you have a physical recording device in your inventory.
9.5 | The use of "Emotes" to gain an advantage, like phasing through walls, doors, or using an emote when in last stand/dead so you can move is powergaming and will result in a strike.
