Section 6: Roleplay Rules

Section 6: Roleplay rules

These are a list of non exhaustive generic roleplay rules. A lot of this is common sense.

Basic rules

  • 6.1 | Remain IC, OOC has a time and place. Do not ruin everyone else's experience. Adhere /me. If you have an issue with something, do not start shouting about it IC, take it OOC and open a ticket. If your character has not directly learned something, i.e from an OOC channel in Discord it CANNOT be taken into the city. Only IC channels can be taken into the city, even then that is to be kept at a minimum. If you have your own gang or mc Discord then anything said in these Discords CANNOT be taken into the city. Example of this is when a member of Green gets robbed by a member of white, member of green posts it in their gang Discord. Green cannot then take that into the city and seek vengeance. If the member of green mentions it to another member in the city then they have learnt that in city and this can be used. Admins have the authority to kick ANYBODY who goes OOC in city.

  • 6.2 | Names of your characters must be suitable for RP and non offensive.

  • 6.3 | Any disagreements IC should be roleplayed out. If this cannot be done then a ticket should be opened.

  • 6.4 | Using any in game apps (twitter, instagram etc) for anything other than RP could result in a strike.

  • 6.5 | Transferring over items/cash/information/knowledge between your characters is not allowed. This is classed as metagaming and will result in strikes.

  • 6.6 | Going "in your head" is not a valid reason for avoiding situations/RP. If you go in your head it is your own fault if something happens to you. Initiation rules still apply i.e you have to acknowledge an intiation. See Section 7. To avoid this, if you are going to go "in your head" do it somewhere people will not find you or fly out.

Combat logging

  • 6.7 | We have systems in place to prevent this, however, if you F8 disconnect or log off the server during an active scene, unconscious, in cuffs you will be subject to a strike. We understand crashes of the game do happen, should this happen take a screenshot of the error, post a message in Discord and rejoin the server and continue the scene. If someone disputes you combat logging you can provide the screenshot to prove it (we also have logs available)

  • 6.8 | Should you be in the middle of a scene and the server crashes or restarts you are to return to the server and the scene and continue the scene as if the restart or crash did not happen.

  • 6.9 | You may only leave an in progress scene if you have a valid reason. This must be communicated to people in the scene and a ticket opened ASAP to explain why you had to leave the scene.

Strict RP

  • 6.10 | Currently we have no “strict RP”.

Toxic or hostile roleplay:

  • 6.11 | If someone is unconscious or bled out, you are not to excessively communicate with them or be excessively toxic towards them. I. e bragging that you killed them, or bragging that you robbed them etc.

  • 6.12 | Camping one location to rob people will not be tolerated. If you commit a crime in one area then you CANNOT commit another crime in that area for 1 hour. This goes for both individuals and gangs/mc’s. The only exception to this is turf wars, or pre-agreed hostile warfare.

  • 6.13 | You cannot commit a crime against the same person/gang without a good reason, you should wait 1 hour before committing a crime against that person or gang/mc. Exception to this is a turf-war or pre-agreed gang warfare.

Bodycams, phone footage and evidence (roleplay)

  • 6.14 | There are multiple CCTV cameras around the city, these can be used by LEO to gather evidence of a crime. However, they cannot actively monitor the CCTV and can only review the CCTV after a crime has been committed. These cameras DO NOT record audio and can only be used for video evidence.

  • 6.15 | Bodycams, mobile phones and wires can be used to provide evidence for anybody (these need to be in your pockets). However, if the device is stolen, the evidence is gone and cannot be used for roleplay. If you are killed with a bodycam and it is not stolen you can then use that to remember what happened when you died. See new life rule for further explanation.

  • 6.16 | Evidence submitted for court cases must have a clear view of the footage and any audio must be two way recorded. This means both your voice and the other party's voices must be heard. If only one way audio is recorded then the evidence is not admissible. The only exception to this is CCTV cameras where only video is recorded. Because of this assumptions on what was said CANNOT be made by LEO or DOJ.

  • 6.17 | You can only quote on the evidence you have, you cannot bring up rules or SOP’s IC or in court. I.e during a court case you cannot state “well they broke the rules when they did this” court is for roleplay and not for rule breaks. That is what tickets are for.

Dead men talking / knocked out

  • 6.18 | You CANNOT talk when dead. Death state is when you are laid on your back or front, you can only make unintelligible noises to roleplay you are in pain but cannot talk.

  • 6.19 | You CAN talk when you are bleeding out, i.e laid on your side. However, you must RP that you are in pain and limit the amount you are talking.

  • 6.20 | If you are knocked out you do not remember anything about what is going around you and must act confused. You can be reminded of things but will have no recolection of what led up to you been knocked out.

Roleplay in business’s

  • 6.21 | RusticRP allows players to own businesses, any business owners are to roleplay their business to a good standard. Any hostile events taking place in a business must have a good reason behind it, i.e one business is deliberately disrupting the business of another.

Positions of power

In RusticRP we allow people to become Real Estate Agents, Mechanics etc.

  • 6.22 | You MUST not abuse your job role or position, i.e if you are a real estate agent you cannot go around buying the best houses for yourself or reselling them on the side. If you are a mechanic you cannot refuse to repair someone else's vehicle unless you have good reason. Any abuse of any job role or power will result in a strike or a blacklist from that job.

Head coverings/unfair advantage

  • 6.23 | You must not wear any item of clothing (apart from body armor) that gives you a health advantage. I.e wearing a motorcycle helmet during a combat scene. You must remove the helmet before entering into combat. You can wear helmets in vehicles or on bikes, but these must be removed when getting out of the vehicle. There are 2 exceptions to this rule. LEO can wear helmets when the threat level is amber and are SWAT trained (or authorised to wear/carry via PD policies). The other exception, is PRE-PLANNED raids DO NOT need the threat level changing - see 11.18

  • 6.24 | You CANNOT use emotes or bugs to gain an advantage, this involves using emotes to avoid being shot, or to give you cover.

  • 6.25 | You CANNOT call in external backup from people who are not IC when a scene starts. If they are not IC then they are not aware of the situation therefore, cannot fly in just to help out during that scene.

Scenes and numbers

  • 6.26 | All scenes in the city are dynamic, sometimes there's a lot of people involved. Below are the limits for the following scenes. Stores robberies - 1 vehicle(not including driver), 2 crims, 1 hostage and 1 external, the external must be close by and have been on the phone or radio with you during the robbery. PD - 2 cars, 3 officers. PD can call backup from 1 other unit, if an officer goes down they can request backup to replace that unit using the panic button or radio. Heists - All heists are limited to 5 participants + 1 hostage and 1 external. The external must be in area and be in radio or mobile phone contact. Crims are limited to 2 vehicles. PD - PD are limited to 3 vehicles and initially they are limited to the amount of cops that heist takes to trigger. However, if cops see more crims than what cops are on scene they can call for backup to match numbers. If an officer goes down they can request backup to replace that unit using the panic button or radio. If crims decide to do a heist with 2 crims and PD show up with the trigger number, that is on the crims. They should expect a minimum of the trigger number of PD to turn up on scene. PD have no way of seeing how many crims are doing a heist until they turn up, so expect the trigger number of PD to turn up. The threat level will always be set to amber once a heist is triggered.

In city advertisements

  • 6.27 - The use of the in city /ad function is not to be used for anything other than advertising a service or business or by PD/EMS. Any abuse of this system will be classed as powergaming and will result in strikes. You can not initiate using this system, it is purely to be used for advertisements only.
